The hotel room was bright and extremely spacious. I had a room with absolutely gorgeous views of the ocean and city. The setting was marvellous and unbeatable, just off the beach. Fashion Island Hotel Newport Beach is conveniently located near other great restaurants and shopping spots. I was pleasantly surprised by the goodies and drinks available at Pain du Monde nearby.

Location near to '' which had snacks, a fair distance from the coastline and restaurants. Impeccable service, private parking available on site.

Clean and big rooms, thought of every comfort.
It should be advertised as business venue hotel. It is located at the strip divided between shopping mall and financial industry corps. It is perfect of attending conferences, but not good for a family vacation - nothing to do in the area, it is dead and not lively. You will drive 30-40 miles for some life around you. Not many good restaurants near by.

The rooms here are modern, and the breakfast is both gorgeous and delicious, making it a fantastic way to kick off your day.

Hotel was beautiful, staff was courteous and friendly.
$29/day for valet parking when no public parking was available. This added an additional 10% to the total cost of my stay. Ridiculous.

The Hotel was truly five star, excellent staff and the rooms were great. Good location but you need a car to get anywhere in California. The Fashion Island shopping centre is next door and offers alternative dining options. This was our first visit to Newport Beach and the Hotel was a positive start to a great trip.
As with most west coast hotels the parking costs do increase the cost of staying but overall this was a minor issue.

I had a great experience and would come here again. The room I booked was big and provided with a mini-fridge, great views, and all the comforts. Impeccable service. I found the hotel's location marvelous, just off fashion square, which had snacks and a high-end shopping mall.

The hotel is luxurious in setting:lovely decor, marble bathroom and spa,
We like coffee in the room, if nothing else is offered. There was a tray of outrageously expensive snacks ($3.50 a Snicker bar, $30 half-bottle of ok-wine),and any food service to the room was expensive. Everything was out of pocket. There was no indication of restaurant on the premises and very little information in the room, beside the spa services. As far as ocean view is concerned, we could see very far away the ocean, but close by was a construction site and the roofs of the Islands Shopping Mall....not very romantic. We had to keep the window closed because of the noise on the ground area.

The hotel gave us a feeling as though we were part of the rich or elite society. The valet staff was pleasant and attentive.
The hotel is over priced for what u really get. The balcony is very narrow. The perk of the hotel is that it is high enough to have a view. Standing on the balcony would have made it better. U can barely get a foot out. Amenities are basic but very clean

Too loud- 3am noise from front- breaking down party that night- noisy- majot drop off from Four Seasons. The Irvine Company do leases with strip malls- not luxury hotels- big drop off when they took over- Not the Montage, not the Ritz Carlton- just a b+ hotel- at best- down hill on entry way to hotel- door service - not as pretty as it was when Four Seasons owned it- flowers etc just not that great- Pool was not functional (but I was warned of that prior to my arrival so understandable. Irvine Company should stick to leases and commercial property - and get out of hotel industry

Suggestions: put air conditioning/heating instructions nearby for guests; wallpaper needs to be updated in the rooms.
